Thank Him Today!
This past Tuesday (July 3, 2012), an article titled "Scientists find evidence of 'God particle'" appeared in our area daily newspaper. The short article read. . . "Scientists working at the world's biggest atom smasher plan to announce Wednesday that they have gathered enough evidence to show that the long-sought "God particle" answering fundamental questions about the universe almost certainly does exist. Experts familiar with the research at the vast complex on the Swiss-French border known as CERN said the massive data they have obtained will essentially show the footprint of the key particle known as the Higgs boson. The phrase "God particle", coined by Nobel Prize-winning physicist Leon Lederman, is used to describe the wonders of the subatomic universe." The FOUNDATION. The SOURCE. How and where it all began. So many theories and explanations with so many gaps, missing links, and questions left unanswered. However, every time I read through the Scriptures I am all the more impressed with how rational and reasonable it is to ACKOWLEDGE GOD as the GREAT MIND AND POWER behind it all.
The Scriptures begin with the statement. . .
"(1) In the beginning, GOD CREATED the heavens and the earth." ( Genesis 1:1 ESV)
Within this one verse are five components -- time, force, energy, space, and matter -- recognized by scientists for making up this world. Reading the verse again we have "In the beginning (time), God (force) created (energy) the heavens (space) and the earth (matter)." In the very first passage of Scripture, God is noted as the FIRST CAUSE of life as we know it in this realm. And that FIRST CAUSE is also the SUSTAINER of it.
In Elihu's statements to Job and his three friends, he stated the following regarding God.
"(12) Of a truth, God will not do wickedly, and the Almighty will not pervert justice. (13) Who gave him charge over the earth, and who laid on him the whole world? (14) IF HE SHOULD SET HIS HEART TO IT AND GATHER TO HIMSELF HIS SPIRIT AND HIS BREATH, (15) ALL FLESH WOULD PERISH TOGETHER, AND MAN WOULD RETURN TO DUST." ( Job 34:12-15 ESV)
Yes, where would we be without God and the life He has instilled in us? Let us rejoice in knowing THE CREATOR AND SUSTAINER OF LIFE as we seek to live in a manner revealing our thanks to Him. Without Him we would not exist!
Have a great day LIVING IN AWE OF THE WONDERS OF OUR CREATOR!
