Singularly Handled!

Sometimes it takes an army to win a battle. Sometimes battles are won single-handedly. How are we doing with life's battles? Are we going it alone? Are we receiving the help and support of others? Is our alliance wholeheartedly with God?

Might we agree that our greatest life battle is with sin? We try hard, but we mess up. Sometimes, like Peter (i.e. Matthew 26:33-35), we think we are stronger than we actually are and find ourselves failing again. That's a reminder of being careful how close we get to what challenges us most. Don't taunt temptation. There are some things from which we need to run. (i.e. 2 Timothy 2:22 & 1 Corinthians 6:18)

In contrasting the old sacrificial code with the offering of Christ, the Hebrew writer stated. . .

"(11) And every priest stands daily at his service, offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. (12) But when CHRIST had OFFERED FOR ALL TIME A SINGLE SACRIFICE FOR SINS, he sat down at the right hand of God, (13) waiting from that time until his enemies should be made a footstool for his feet. (14) For BY A SINGLE OFFERING HE HAS PERFECTED FOR ALL TIME THOSE WHO ARE BEING SANCTIFIED." ( Hebrews 10:11-14 ESV)

As the sacrifices under the Mosaic law were a continual reminder of sin ( Hebrews 10:3), Jesus adequately atoned for sin by a "SINGLE SACRIFICE." Someone might boast that they could take us on with one hand tied behind their back. Jesus conquered sin with arms stretched out on the cross. He is the great Conqueror on our behalf. May we continue following His leadership through life's battles as He is the One Who ultimately wins the war!

Have a great day ENJOYING VICTORIOUS LIVING IN CHRIST!
