Prized Relationship!

Have you ever seen a guy holding hands with or embracing a good looking girl and thought (or heard someone else express) "What a lucky guy"? How about the other way around and thought, "What a lucky gal"? However, it must be remembered there is much more to looking good than physical appearance. Have we ever met an attractive person we soon began to view as rather ugly because of their attitude or manner in which they acted and treated others? And have we not also recognized the beauty of one whose physical appearance was perhaps far from stunning, but their actions and words just naturally drew us to them?

What marks our own life? What is it that is being emphasized and focused on to make us look good? Are we embracing and holding to that which truly brings beauty of our life?

In Proverbs we read. . .
"(7) The beginning of wisdom is this: GET WISDOM, and whatever you get, get insight. (8) PRIZE HER HIGHLY, and she will exalt you; she will honor you if you EMBRACE HER. (9) She will place on your head a graceful garland; she will bestow on you a beautiful crown." ( Proverbs 4:7-9 ESV)

The relationship with wisdom from above is to be highly prized. As WISDOM is personified in the text, she exalts the one who has her and honors the one who embraces her. She beautifully adorns the life. The mind is beautified as with a "graceful garland" or a "beautiful crown."

Foolishness is not attractive. Some worldly ways are downright ugly. It is in living according to WISDOM that beauty is added to the life.
