In The Light!

Life is a journey in a world of varied paths, some clearer or better illuminated than others. In order to walk without stumbling, it is wise to choose a well lit path. Are we choosing wisely?

In contrasting "the path of the righteous" and "the way of the wicked", Solomon noted. . .

"(18) But the PATH OF THE RIGHTEOUS IS LIKE THE LIGHT OF DAWN, which shines brighter and brighter until full day. (19) The WAY OF THE WICKED IS LIKE DEEP DARKNESS; they do not know over what they stumble." ( Proverbs 4:18-19 ESV)

For the wicked, their way is like "deep darkness" and so much so that they are not even able to see what it is there are stumbling over. Without LIGHT they just can't see. Without good illumination they just can't understand. That is why it is sometimes difficult to reason with those of the world. The thick worldly jungle makes it hard for them to see the unseen roots of this world's foolishness which trip them up as they continue stumbling further into the darkness.

The righteous, on the other hand, walk in the LIGHT OF GOD. Just like beginning a journey as the day is dawning, further and further along the way the sun rises higher and greater illumination is available. Considering our spiritual journey, the more time we spend learning the wisdom of God, the clearer and clearer the WAY OF GOD becomes to us. Walking in this world in the LIGHT OF HIS WISDOM we are able to see what would have otherwise tripped us up and caused us to stumble. The further we move along in GOD'S WAY, the clearer His Will gets to enable us to walk safely on.
