Panning For Gold!
Panning for gold is something done very carefully. Dip by dip of the pan into the water and then carefully swishing it around to separate the gravel from the possible nuggets of gold, the process is done patiently and with a close eye looking for the TREASURE. Though the process may be time consuming, successfully discovering the VALUABLE NUGGETS is considered worth it all. It is all approached with the hope the efforts will "pan out" (an expression drawn from this process of panning for gold) to make one rich. What marks the wealth we hope will "pan out" in our life?
As Solomon addressed the value of wisdom, he urged. . .
"(1) My son, if you receive my words and TREASURE UP MY COMMANDMENTS with you, (2) making your EAR ATTENTIVE TO WISDOM and INCLINING YOUR HEART TO UNDERSTANDING; (3) yes, if you call out FOR INSIGHT and raise your voice FOR UNDERSTANDING, (4) if you SEEK IT LIKE SILVER and SEARCH FOR IT AS FOR HIDDEN TREASURES, (5) then YOU WILL UNDERSTAND THE FEAR OF THE LORD AND FIND THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD." ( Proverbs 2:1-5 ESV)
What marks our pursuit for knowledge and wisdom? As we read God's Word, are we patient in the process or do we quickly read simply to get our reading done? Is the heart truly drawn to it and the eye eagerly seeking the VALUABLE NUGGETS contained in each verse? And as we focus on the wisdom that truly has value relative to life and eternity, are we able to separate the wisdom from above ( James 3:17) from the "gravel" this world tries to get us to accept?
Let us be careful to highly value that which we ought. Jesus pointed out that what relates to the kingdom of heaven is worth giving up all else in order to gain it because of the joy in finding it. ( Matthew 13:44) Remember, all that glitters is not gold. Let us TREASURE THE WISDOM OF GOD, for in so doing, our life will "pan out" in accordance with His plan.
Have a great day REMAINING ECSTATIC ABOUT THE ETERNAL VALUE OF GOD'S WILL!
