If At First You Don't Succeed ... !

Most of us have heard the expression: "If at first you don't succeed -- try, try again." But, as with every good saying someone always has to come up with an alternative such as: "If at first you don't succeed -- blame somebody!" -- or -- "If at first you don't succeed -- go work for someone else!"

There is another one I came across recently which I believe is worthy of consideration. "If at first you don't succeed, try reading the instructions."

Have you ever tried putting something together without reading the instructions? Did you find it may have only appeared easier than it was and you had to eventually read the directions to get it right? Unfortunately I have to plead guilty to that one! (If you want to be honest and join me in pleading guilty I'll leave that up to you.)

Many things are better done when we BEGIN WITH THE INSTRUCTIONS. Life is one of those things and God has given us the instructions we need. Many of the problems in this world are due to the fact so few people have taken time to read HIS INSTRUCTIONS. These folks think they can put their lives together themselves. They think they can fix all their problems their own way. If that were true -- why is the world continuing to struggle with so much conflict and so many problems?

Solomon urged. . .
"(13) KEEP HOLD OF INSTRUCTION; DO NOT LET GO; guard her, FOR SHE IS YOUR LIFE." ( Proverbs 4:13 ESV)

We need instruction and since God is the Creator of life doesn't it make sense to keep looking to find out what He has to say about how to live? To follow His instructions means "Life" for us! Let us keep reading HIS INSTRUCTIONS. Hold to them. The ultimate success we will experience will be out of this world!
