Included In The Will! (part 2 of 2)

Jesus died. His covenant is in effect. Because of our relationship with Him WE ARE HEIRS of the inheritance He has secured. And it is A RICH INHERITANCE.

Let us picture ourselves as HIS HEIRS, sitting at the reading of His will, hearing what He has provided for us.

"I, Jesus Christ, being of sound mind and body, do bequeath to you, my beloved brethren and children of God: that '. . . no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands, for my sake and for the gospel, who will not receive a hundredfold now in this time, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions, and in the age to come eternal life.' [ Mark 10:29-30 (ESV)], the 'heirs of the kingdom' [ James 2:5 (ESV)], eternal redemption, forgiveness, glory, the dwelling of God with you, every tear to be wiped away, 'death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain . . . To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment. The one who conquers WILL HAVE THIS HERITAGE, and I will be his God and he will be my son.'[ Revelation 21:3-7 (ESV)]"

How does that make us feel as an HEIR OF THE RICHES OF GOD? Consider the special blessing of our extended family in Christ and all the things we share together. Knowing what is yet to be received, let us stand strong when persecuted, understanding it is because our life has been clearly IDENTIFIED WITH JESUS. Because of the "living hope" ( 1 Peter 1:3) we have through our Lord's resurrection from the dead, we have "AN INHERITANCE that is IMPERISHABLE, UNDEFILED, and UNFADING, KEPT IN HEAVEN for you." ( 1 Peter 1:4 ESV) Remember, in Jesus, every promise God has made is ours. ( 2 Corinthians 1:20)

The world's wealth is but for a short time (i.e. Hebrews 11:24-26), but what is offered in Jesus is for eternity. May we not allow the stuff of this world to sidetrack us from the GREATEST INHERITANCE we could possible receive.
