Lord Based Resolve!

Yoda (in Star Wars) may have spoken with a strange word order, but he did make some good points. One of his statements in response to Luke Skywalker was, "Try not. Do, or do not!! There is no try." Luke Skywalker needed a stronger resolve to unlearn some things and focus on what lay ahead.

Now, think about the focus of Yoda's statement. When it came to serving the Lord, Paul held such a perspective. He had learned to look beyond himself to the POWER OF THE LORD working in and through Him. That is why he could realistically look at his varied life situations ( Philippians 4:11-12) and still boldly declare. . .

"(13) I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH HIM WHO STRENGTHENS ME." ( Philippians 4:13 ESV)

Yes, Paul had a "CAN DO" attitude in approaching life in service to the Lord. If it was the Lord's Will, He trusted the Lord to provide the STRENGTH NECESSARY to follow through. Whether things were good or bad or he had lots or little, Paul trusted in the Lord to empower him to press on in his service to God.

Have we ever used the word "try" merely because we were actually really not sold on or committed wholeheartedly to doing whatever it was we were faced with doing? If it be the Lord's Will, LET US DO! More than merely an attempt, let us BE DILIGENT in putting forth wholehearted effort in doing what God, through His Word, has called us TO DO as His people. Equipped by God, let us ". . . BE STRONG IN THE LORD AND IN THE STRENGTH OF HIS MIGHT. ( Ephesians 6:10 ESV) With HIS STRENGTH as our resource, we are amply supplied.

Have a great day DOING AS THE LORD ENABLES!
