Need To Know!

Why do some in America want "In God We Trust" off of our currency? Perhaps it is because they do not KNOW GOD and are instead trusting in their wealth. Why do many not want God mentioned in public? Because they do not KNOW GOD and would rather talk about themselves. Why do many not want the morality of God's Word imposed upon them? Because they do not KNOW GOD, but instead think they have a better idea than the wisdom of God that has been around for thousands of years.

Though we might like the declaration (or reminder), whether the words are printed on our money or not, we KNOW GOD and will therefore still trust Him. Even if others around us may not want to talk about God, because we KNOW GOD let us live a life that clearly declares He is the Sovereign guide of our life. And even if we are around those who don't accept His authority and standard for living, because we KNOW GOD, may the choices we make and the manner in which we live reveal the wisdom of how God's Way brings the greatest blessings and joy to life.

Paul, writing to Timothy, exhorted. . .
"(7) Have nothing to do with irreverent, silly myths. Rather TRAIN YOURSELF FOR GODLINESS; (8) for while bodily training is of some value, GODLINESS IS OF VALUE IN EVERY WAY, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come. (9) The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance. (10) For to this end we toil and strive, because WE HAVE OUR HOPE SET ON THE LIVING GOD, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe." ( 1 Timothy 4:7-10 ESV)

Because we KNOW GOD, our eternal hope rests with Him. Regardless of what else goes on in this world, to Him we safely "entrust our souls." ( 1 Peter 4:19) With our focus centered on God, hopefully others around us will begin to catch on as well. May they come to know the One really worth knowing.
