Heart Longevity!
We have a member of our congregation who is still recuperating from heart bypass and valve replacement surgery. It has been a long road. Her husband has a pacemaker that was installed a number of years ago. Another woman in our congregation is scheduled for the battery in her pacemaker to be replaced later this month. Perhaps we don't think much about our heart until it's function is diminished. Still, the heart is an amazing pump. It generally lasts much longer without any repairs than the water pumps, fuel pumps, sump pumps, and other pumps man has designed. Day and night -- whether we are asleep or awake, active or idle -- it just keeps on pumping and sending refreshed life throughout the body.
Doing some online searching I found the cost of a heart TRANSPLANT can range between $750,000 to $790,000, including the cost of the donor heart which was noted as being about $90,000. However, on top of this is the time spent in the hospital preparatory to the transplant, adding another $100,000 to the total cost. [source: http://EzineArticles.com/6258460] Obviously this reflects a REMEDY that does not come cheap. One would need some very good insurance coverage or generous donations to undergo such a procedure.
Praise God such is available spiritually which the Great Physician and Creator of all life is willing to provide. Focusing on a coming time of restoration we read. . .
"(26) And I WILL GIVE YOU A NEW HEART, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I WILL REMOVE THE HEART OF STONE from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. (27) And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules." ( Ezekiel 36:26-27 ESV)
That is the most needed TRANSPLANT there is and praise God for its availability to all who will surrender to receive it. It is a heart designed to remain open to His Will and be responsive to His commands. It is a heart that will PUMP NEW LIFE through our entire being that leads on to eternal glory; a heart that will never need replacing again. May we allow the Great Surgeon to do His life changing work in us.
Have a great day INSTILLED WITH A HEART FOR ETERNAL LIFE!
