Properly Channeled!

Water is powerful. It can rush and erode. It can pour down and pound crops. It can soak hillsides that slide. It can come in waves that roll in and ravish communities. However, water can be harnessed to run through dams to generate electricity, managed to meet the need for good growing crops, and channeled to benefit rather than destroy.

Just like water that can be either beneficial or destructive, so is the case with power in the hands of men. Some handle it well while others allow it to go to their head as they deal harshly with others.

Solomon stated. . .
"The KING'S HEART IS A STREAM OF WATER IN THE HAND OF THE LORD; he turns it wherever he will." ( Proverbs 21:1 ESV)

The best leaders will always be those who will ALLOW GOD to direct them. God has even used worldly leaders to bring about His purposes, even without them realizing it. (i.e. Pharaoh and Artaxerxes) That is because ultimately God's Will prevails. Oh that every world leader (or anyone in any leadership position) relied on the wisdom and will of God when decisions are being made.

The second to the last verse of this chapter notes the Sovereignty of God. ( Proverbs 21:30) When that is kept in mind we are most useful to the Lord for His purposes. May we allow our life to be like channeled water under God's control. Such a life will be beneficial to others and glorifying to God.
