In Mind!
As we move on through life, we may hold many thoughts and plans in mind; the things we consider most significant to us and the future that may lay before us. Perhaps the significance of some of those thoughts and plans will diminish in time and other things of life may prevent us from fulfilling all our plans. Still, keeping a vision of some type for life encourages us to press on in the hope we may at least accomplish something worthwhile on life's journey.
David noted. . .
"YOU HAVE MULTIPLIED, O LORD MY GOD, your wondrous deeds and YOUR THOUGHTS TOWARD US; none can compare with you! I will proclaim and tell of them, yet they are more than can be told." ( Psalm 40:5 ESV)
The New Living Translation reads, ". . . Your PLANS ARE TOO NUMEROUS TO LIST. . ." [NLT, © 2004, Tyndale House Publishers, Wheaton, Illinois]
Though we have many plans, how open are we to what GOD HAS IN MIND for us? Since it is ultimately His purposes that will stand ( Proverbs 19:21), don't we want to be certain our lives are within the realm of those plans?
In Paul's first letter to the church at Corinth, he encouraged. . .
"(9) But, as it is written, 'What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, WHAT GOD HAS PREPARED FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM' -- (10) these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God." ( 1 Corinthians 2:9-10 ESV) [Paul's quote was from Isaiah 64:4)
Let us be encouraged by ALL THE THOUGHTS OF GOD with regard to our life -- our past, present, and future -- and the utmost good He desires to bring about for us. God is fully aware of everything going on in our life now and views us with eternity in mind. We may not be able to list everything He has already done on our behalf and may in time be amazed at what else He brings us to and through, but may we continue to entrust our life to Him as we keep eternity in view.
Have a great day KNOWING GOD IS THINKING OF YOU!
Carl
