What's Wrong!

We can look around ourselves and notice many things that are wrong in this world. We look at governments which seem to impoverish or greatly restrict the freedoms of their citizens. We see problems in politics, in the economy, in education systems, etc. Sometimes we even see the "solutions" creating more problems. However, are there challenges in this world that may be closer to home than we want to admit?

In our quest to find the perfect society, the perfect neighborhood, the perfect congregation, etc., if we actually found it, it would become imperfect once we became a part of it. Part of what is wrong with this world is ME, because of MY OWN IMPERFECTIONS. Though my life may be lived better than many in this world as I strive to follow the Will of God -- in contrast to those who deliberately turn from it -- I am still not always part of the solution. Praise God for His mercy and grace and what He can do in and through me in spite of myself.

When Jesus dealt with the subject of a fault-finding spirit, he stated. . .

"(3) Why do you SEE THE SPECK that is in your brother's eye, but do NOT NOTICE THE LOG that is in your own eye? (4) Or how can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when there is the log in your own eye? (5) You hypocrite, FIRST TAKE THE LOG OUT of your own eye, and THEN YOU WILL SEE CLEARLY TO TAKE THE SPECK OUT of your brother's eye. ( Matthew 7:3-5 ESV)

It is not that there is no speck in the brother's eye to be considered. It is that SELF must be being dealt with in order to more clearly see and enabled to be of real help to another. Beginning to work on our OWN LIFE, we become equipped with a clearer vision and a more gracious spirit in which to help others with theirs. Being humble enough to acknowledge the work still needed in our OWN LIFE helps create a more gentle, loving, and patient approach to helping others. In this way we diminish the room for over-defensiveness and potentially open the door wider for creating an environment for mutual building up and encouraging of one another. May we seek God's help in making things right beginning with OURSLEVES and reaching outward in the spirit of His Will.

Have a great day REMAINING OPEN TO GOD WHO HOLDS THE TRUE SOLUTIONS!
