Saving!

Those who can help us save are generally appreciated. We can sometimes SAVE TIME by hiring someone to do something for us that they are more skilled in doing and can therefore complete in a more timely manner than if we did it ourselves. Sometimes we SAVE MONEY by hiring someone to fix something that would cost more to replace. With the economy today, saving is always good. Saving time and saving money can greatly benefit our life and make daily living better. However, there is greater saving beyond this that some have given little or no thought to.

Consider the following:
-- Longfellow could take a plain sheet of paper, write a poem on it, and make it worth $6,000. That could be called genius.
-- Rockefeller could sign his name on a piece of paper and make it worth one million dollars. That is called capital.
-- Uncle Sam can take gold and stamp an eagle on it, making it worth $20. That is called money.
-- An automobile mechanic can take material costing only $5 and make it worth $50. This is called skill.
-- An artist can take a fifty cent piece of canvas and paint a picture on it worth $1,000 or more. That is call art.
-- God can take a worthless, sinful life, wash it in the blood of Christ, put His Spirit in it, and make it a blessing to humanity. That is called SALVATION!
[---Selected]

What is of more value? At the right time Jesus died for the ungodly. ( Romans 5:6) JESUS GAVE HIMSELF on the cross in order TO SAVE US.

Peter, speaking to the Jewish counsel affirmed. . .
"(11) THIS JESUS is the stone that was rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone. (12) And THERE IS SALVATION IN NO ONE ELSE, for there is NO OTHER NAME under heaven give among men BY WHICH WE MUST BE SAVED." ( Acts 4:11-12 ESV)

And in his first letter Peter noted. . .
"(18) knowing that you were RANSOMED FROM THE FUTILE WAYS inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, (19) but WITH THE PRECIOUS BLOOD OF CHRIST, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot." ( 1 Peter 1:18-19 ESV)

Jesus valued the SALVATION OF OUR SOUL enough to give Himself on our behalf. By His sacrifice and the renewal of His Spirit in our life that value has increased a hundredfold. May the manner in which we live reflect the value the Lord has placed on our soul.

Have a great day PRAISING GOD FOR THE SAVING HE HAS DONE!
