Every Day!

Today is marked on the calendar as "Father's Day!" Though my father left this earthly realm November 29, 2004, his influence in my life lives on. I recently read through some of the many e-mails I had received from people during the last few days my father was with us. Besides letting us know prayers were with us, many noted the influence my Dad had had in their life as well. THE MANNER IN WHICH I LIVE SAYS SOMETHING ABOUT MY FATHER. Often my wife will say, "You're just like your father." I don't mind hearing her say that, even when it is in reference to something silly I have done. My father had both a fun and a serious side, and I have been blessed to share some of both. The manner in which I live today honors my father's legacy.

God blessed me with godly parents who instilled in me the need for dedication to seeking the Heavenly Father's Will and building life on a foundation of God's Word. Every day we live ought to REFLECT SOMETHING ABOUT OUR HEAVENLY FATHER. Is His influence being allowed to work in our life on a daily basis? Can others see that He and His Will are the sustaining influences over every aspect of our life? Are we allowing the essence He created us to possess ( Genesis 1:26-27) to be renewed in us ( Ephesians 4:24; Colossians 3:10; 2 Corinthians 3:18) so that we can live each day in a manner that glorifies our "Father who is in heaven."? ( Matthew 5:16)

Writing to the church at Ephesus, Paul exhorted. . .
"(1) Therefore BE IMITATORS OF GOD, AS BELOVED CHILDREN, (2) And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God." ( Ephesians 5:1-2 ESV)

The best way for us to HONOR OUR HEAVENLY FATHER is to strive to imitate more and more His Divine essence. This is also the best means of leaving a proper legacy for those who follow us. May HIS LIKENESS be seen in our every day activities and choices.

Have a great day HONORING GOD AS HIS CHILD!
Carl
