Disguised Opportunities!
Someone has said:
"We are all faced with a series of great opportunities brilliantly disguised as impossible situations." (Author unknown)
How do we approach opportunities?
Do we move toward them merely with a focus on our own abilities? If that is our approach we will most likely encounter many "impossible situations."
Do we view them with a sense of what could be accomplished along with the help of others? There will be many more situations victoriously worked through if this is our perspective.
Or do we consider opportunities and what can be made of them with the help of God? This is where the surprises will continue to occur. This is where we will find ourselves involved in doing what needs to be done though it be more than we ever envisioned doing.
Paul acknowledged God's power associated with our lives in this way where he wrote. . .
"(20) Now TO HIM WHO IS ABLE TO DO FAR MORE ABUNDANTLY than all that we ask or think, ACCORDING TO THE POWER AT WORK WITHIN US, (20) to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen." ( Ephesians 3:20-21 ESV)
Paul knew the power of his ministry was beyond that of himself. (Note Paul's attitude as expressed in 1 Corinthians 2:3-5 and 2 Corinthians 4:7) If we are constantly looking to see what we can do ourselves, we are most likely looking to boast in our own abilities and accomplishments. If we are continually looking to see what God can and desires to do through us, then we are seeking to glorify Him as He uses us as His tools in His kingdom. We then praise God for His power that enables us to fulfill the purposes He lays before us.
Writing to the church at Thessalonica, Paul stated. . .
"(11) To this end we always pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling and may FULFILL EVERY RESOLVE FOR GOOD AND EVERY WORK OF FAITH BY HIS POWER, (12) so THAT THE NAME OF OUR LORD JESUS MAY BE GLORIFIED in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ." ( 2 Thessalonians 1:11-12 ESV)
Have a great day ALLOWING GOD TO UNMASK THE OPPORTUNITIES HE PLACES BEFORE US!
