The Answer!

While driving around town a few days ago, my attention was captured by the words on the frame around a car license plate. Across the top it said "JESUS" and across the bottom read, "That Is My Final Answer".

Who (or what) is the LORD of our life? Who (or what) is the KING ruling on the throne of our heart? Who (or what) is the MASTER whose will we are submissively serving? If the answer to those questions is not JESUS, then our focus needs to change. If we claim it is JESUS, are we set for it to remain so from this day forward? Is JESUS truly our FINAL ANSWER?

JESUS is the answer to our being separated from God, having become the means by which we are delivered from the wrath of God ( Romans 5:8) and being reconciled by His death. ( Romans 5:9) JESUS is the answer to gaining access to the Father. ( John 14:6) JESUS is the only "name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." ( Acts 4:12 ESV) And the list goes on of the significant difference JESUS makes (or can make) to our life now and for eternity. Therefore, since JESUS is the answer to fulfilling all of the above noted blessings and more -- when it comes to the LORD, KING, and MASTER of our life -- WHAT IS OUR FINAL ANSWER?

Jesus stated. . .
"(32) So EVERYONE WHO ACKNOWLEDGES ME BEFORE MEN, I ALSO WILL ACKNOWLEDGE BEFORE MY FATHER who is in heaven, (33) but whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven." ( Matthew 10:32-33 ESV)

John also wrote. . .
"(23) No one who denies the Son has the Father. WHOEVER CONFESSES THE SON HAS THE FATHER ALSO." ( 1 John 2:23 ESV)

That all sounds fair enough, doesn't it? Why should we have an expectation of Him acknowledging us if we are not willing to acknowledge Him? In the end it matters what JESUS is and has been to us? Though some relationships may come and go, this one is to remain the abiding one! Saying "yes" to that relationship as we surrender our life to Him is to remain our FINAL ANSWER so that no other being or possession has the slightest chance of replacing Him.

When Jesus encouraged His disciples in view of persecution they would face for His name's sake, He exhorted, ". . .But the one who endures to the end will be saved." ( Matthew 10:22b) Since Jesus is the "Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end" ( Revelation 22:13), may our life and words reflect He is the One to Whom we have entrusted our life now and for eternity. JESUS is both able and faithful to save us.

Have a great day MAKING "THE ALPHA AND THE OMEGA" OUR FIRST AND FINAL ANSWER!
