Made . . . For What?

In Genesis, the description of the creation of man is described in this way:
"then the LORD God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and THE MAN BECAME A LIVING CREATURE." ( Genesis 2:7 ESV)

The KJV reads: "and man became a LIVING SOUL." The Hebrew word refers to "soul", "self", "life", "creature", and "person" in the sense of a "living being." [source: Strong's Lexicon]

In contrast to the earth itself, God made man a living being or living soul. He is the Creator and Sustainer of life. We ought to thank Him for it.

We note the psalmist's acknowledgement of his Creator where he wrote. . .

"I praise you, for I AM FEARFULLY AND WONDERFULLY MADE. Wonderful are your works; MY SOUL KNOWS IT VERY WELL." ( Psalm 139:14 ESV)

Yes, and how wonderful! WE ARE NOT ACCIDENTS! We were MADE ON PURPOSE and created WITH A WONDERFUL PURPOSE. But what is that purpose? Many valid and even God glorifying purposes may come to mind. Go ahead and consider some of the purposes that come to mind and Lord willing tomorrow we will consider an ultimate purpose for which we were made.

Have a great day ACKNOWLEDGING HAVING BEEN PURPOSELY MADE!
Carl
