Lost Opportunity!

Several days ago I came across a handheld wind gauge that also gave altimeter, barometer, and temperature information (and a few other digital readouts), and was also submersible. It was marked fifty percent off and I thought it would be great for both hiking and kayaking, but decided to do some quick price checking first. I went to a couple other places and found similar gadgets for a higher price that did not do as much as the first model I had seen. Within less than an hour I returned to the first store and it -- the only one they had in stock -- had just been sold. I missed out on what now appears to have been A VERY GOOD BUY! Though I can certainly live without this gadget, it would have been nice to have not missed the opportunity.

Jesus told a parable about one who recognized A GOOD DEAL when he saw it and wasted no time making the purchase. We read. . .

"(45) Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls, (46) who, on FINDING ONE PEARL OF GREAT VALUE, went and SOLD ALL THAT HE HAD AND BOUGHT IT." ( Matthew 13:45-46 ESV)

This one KNEW VALUE when he saw it. That which was of greater value than "all that he had" was worth that cost in order to possess it. That is the value of God's kingdom. However, how many have been presented the opportunity and passed it up for something else? God's kingdom is worth the cost of all else we have because without it we lose all of any real value anyway! That is why Jesus exhorted for the seeking of the kingdom of God and His righteousness to be the number one pursuit of our life. ( Matthew 6:33)

Being in God's kingdom will provide more for us than any other offer we will come across in our lifetime. It is one thing we cannot live without. May our life choices truly reflect how much we value it.

Have a great day ACKNOWLEDGING THE INESTIMABLE VALUE OF THE THINGS OF GOD!
