Well Off Indeed!

Sometimes the world pities the one who ought to be noted and honored. Though we should in no way trivialize the poverty some live in and ought to be willing to help as we are able, it is sometimes the poor who are actually rich while the wealthy are sadly living in a poor condition. There is more than one way to be impoverished; not just that which may be associated with economics but also with spirituality.

Solomon stated. . .
"BETTER IS A POOR PERSON WHO WALKS IN HIS INTEGRITY than one who is crooked in speech and is a fool." ( Proverbs 19:1 ESV)

And later on we read. . .
"BETTER IS A POOR MAN WHO WALKS IN HIS INTEGRITY than a rich man who is crooked in his ways." ( Proverbs 28:6 ESV)

Rather than a "poor rich person" one can be BETTER OFF being "a rich poor person". In fact, it is possible for the poor individual to be MORALLY AND SPIRITUALLY SUPERIOR to an individual with great wealth. Young people, keep this in mind as you begin setting your goals for life. Those who are older, let us keep this in mind whenever we are reevaluating our goals and surveying life accomplishments. Paul encouraged Timothy to exhort the wealthy toward being rich is good works. ( 1 Timothy 6:18)

Remember, Jesus stated. . .
"BLESSED ARE THE POOR IN SPIRIT, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." ( Matthew 5:3 ESV)

Yes, how blessed we are when we acknowledge our spiritual need and continue to focus on Christ for it to be met. Through such a humble approach to life we stand to gain the riches of an eternal kingdom that lasts long beyond this realm here. Rather than pitied, we become the privileged ones! Living with INTEGRITY among men and HOLINESS before God is the path to what is of the greatest value to possess.

Have a great day BEING PROPERLY POOR AND RIGHTEOUSLY RICH!
