Opinion Irrelevant!

We have recently experienced some cold weather and snow, though not quite as much as other parts of our country. Some places have had such inclement weather they have experienced the cancellation of airline flights and cars have been stranded along highways. Travelers crossing the Cascade Mountain Range dividing our state of Washington recently experienced some delays as the roads were being cleared. Also, the cold weather and fresh snows making the skiers and snowboarders happy were not good news for the daffodil growers of our region who were having to wait for the afternoon thaws to pick the flowers lest they bruise the stems in the process.

On the weather page of one of our area news stations (KOMO 4) was the statement: "Some people love snow, some people hate it. But your opinion doesn't really matter, it is coming for us all." The reality is that it does not matter what our plans are, the weather will be what it is. However, a little preparation for the variable possibilities helps to make it through.

Consider the coming of our Lord. It does not matter whether He is loved or hated, He has come and is coming again. Regardless of personal opinion there is A DAY COMING FOR US ALL! ( 2 Corinthians 5:10)

In Paul's second letter to Timothy we read. . .
"(7) I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. (8) Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, WILL AWARD TO ME ON THAT DAY, and not only to me but ALSO TO ALL WHO HAVE LOVED HIS APPEARING." ( 2 Timothy 4:7-8 ESV)

A DAY is coming and come it will regardless of loving it, hating it, or being prepared. It will come in accordance with the timing of God's plan. To truly love the Lord moves us to be prepared for THAT DAY. In view of it "we make it our aim to please him." ( 2 Corinthians 5:9 ESV) May we continue with endurance to the end and so be saved ( Matthew 10:22) as we encourage others to do the same.
