Emergency Shelter!
When disasters in this world strike, shelter is sought in which to wait them ought. Sometimes following a disaster official temporary shelters are set up where people are able to go for medical aid, food and water, a place to sleep, and other supports. When people have lost everything to a disaster and there is nowhere else to go, such shelters are a lifesaver.
In Psalms we find this focus of faith . . .
"(1) GOD IS OUR REFUGE and strength, A VERY PRESENT HELP IN TROUBLE. (2) Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, (3) though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling." ( Psalm 46:1-3 ESV)
The psalmist's focus on GOD as a REFUGE and help in trouble took away the fear of what else might go on in the world. How much do we trust in God's awareness of all we experience in life and find peace in Him as our SHELTER OR REFUGE? Not a place to go to only after we have lost everything else, but an ever present help in life. Mountains may tremble, but God brings ETERNAL STABILITY to life. Worldly hopes may be washed away, but God's sustaining power can KEEP US AFLOAT.
GOD is the sustainer and ETERNAL LIFESAVER. May we remain under His loving care and support as our abiding REFUGE in the storms of life.
Have a great day ENJOYING SANCTUARY IN THE RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD!
