Our Size!

Do you remember hearing about George Washington Carver (1860-1943)? He was a US Chemurgist, botanist and educator. Among his scientific work he has been noted for developing hundreds of industrial uses for peanuts and sweet potatoes. It is told he once related the following: "When I was young I said to God, 'God, tell me the mystery of the universe.' But God answered, 'That knowledge is reserved for Me alone.' So I said, 'God, tell me the mystery of the peanut.' Then God said, 'Well, George, that's more your size.' And He told me."

God has revealed much to us. However, there are still many things which remain a mystery. Some things we may never know. Other things we will understand in time. Still others may be understood in eternity. We ought to thank Him for what He has revealed and resolve to hold on to those things since they have obviously been revealed for a reason.

The nation of Israel was told. . .
"The SECRET THINGS BELONG TO THE LORD OUR GOD, but THE THINGS that are REVEALED BELONG TO US and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law." ( Deuteronomy 29:29 ESV)

Some things we may not fully comprehend because they are just too vast for our finite mind to grasp. The intelligence of God is so beyond us, while the things more our size He has revealed. Take advantage of what God has granted. Read His Book and understand what He desires to make known to us. It is all for our encouragement, strengthening, and guidance. Not all of life is intended to be a mystery!
