God's Gifts!
When gifts are GRACIOUSLY received, that means they are kindly, tactfully, or politely accepted. The giver is not snubbed or made to feel bad, even if the gift is not well thought of. Such is then a GRACIOUS act and feelings are not hurt. A parent may do this with a child who offers a handmade gift that is a little lopsided. Still it is loved because it was made especially for them by their child whom they love. Friends may be GRACIOUS in this way as well because they want to preserve the friendship. However, how do we make God feel when we do not view His gifts as we ought? God doesn't give junk. He knows how to give just the right gifts!
James described God's gifts as. . .
"(17) Every GOOD GIFT and every PERFECT GIFT is FROM ABOVE, coming down FROM THE FATHER of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change." ( James 1:17 ESV)
When it comes to God's gifts we should know what to expect with regard to their quality and ability to adequately meet the need. He has been GRACIOUS to give us far more than we deserve. So, how do we treat His gift of GRACE? Do we view it as an account on which we can draw as we choose to go on doing our own thing? (note Jude 4) By going on sinning do we see it as God's opportunity to just make grace abound even more? ( Romans 6:1) "By no means" is such to be the case! ( Romans 6:2 & 15) What would that say about our view of God's GRACE? To take lightly any of God's gifts, what would that say about our relationship with Him?
God's gifts should never be viewed as if in need of being exchanged. Their color is pure, their size is right, and in spite of our not deserving them, they are GRACIOUSLY provided. May we live in a manner that reflects our sincerest appreciation for them all!
Have a great day LIVING EXCITED BY GOD'S GRACIOUS GIFTS!
