Thankful Responsibility!
Our blessings! Do we ever take them for granted? Have we ever acted as if they were for us alone? Or do we acknowledge how we are to be good stewards of the blessings we have received. The more we have the more responsibility we have to help others because we have been blessed with the position to do so!
As Paul was planning to visit Rome as he continued his missionary journeys, he mentioned his purpose of going to Jerusalem where he stated. . .
"(26) For Macedonia and Achaia have been pleased to make some contribution for the poor among the saints at Jerusalem. (27) They were pleased to do it, and INDEED THEY OWE IT TO THEM. For if the Gentiles have come to SHARE IN THEIR SPIRITUAL BLESSINGS, they OUGHT ALSO TO BE OF SERVICE TO THEM IN MATERIAL BLESSINGS." ( Romans 15:26-27 ESV)
Whether it be physical or spiritual blessings, if we have been blessed we ought to be WILLING TO SHARE with others. In Paul's letter to the church at Ephesus, he urged any who were stealing to do so no longer, but rather get a job. However, making a living was not merely to keep them from stealing, but so they would "HAVE SOMETHING TO SHARE WITH ANYONE IN NEED." ( Ephesians 4:28). One of the ways to show God our appreciation for our blessings is by being good stewards of them and especially in the sense of helping meet the needs of others. In so doing it is as service to the Lord. (note Matthew 25:34-40)
Those who have more, of them more is expected. ( Luke 12:48) May we live up to the service God has equipped us to provide.
Have a great day WILLING TO BLESS AS WE HAVE BEEN BLESSED!
