Count And Tell!

Today is marked on our calendar here in the United States of America as "Thanksgiving Day!" Though everyday ought to be a day of thanksgiving to God, today is often filled with reflections on the BLESSINGS we have received. There is a hymn we sing that encourages us, while in the midst of "life's billows", to COUNT OUR BLESSINGS, even "name them one by one, and it will surprise you what the Lord hath done."*

It seems so easy, in the midst of trials, to forget how TRULY BLESSED we are. And on the other hand, when things are going well it is easy to take God's blessings for granted. We ought to frequently take the time to consider the blessings -- whether viewed as great or small -- and in prayer sincerely thank God for them. His blessings reveal He has not taken our cares for granted, so why should we take His blessings for granted?

However, don't stop with the giving of thanks. Note something the Psalmist exhorted toward where we read. . .

"(1) Oh GIVE THANKS TO THE LORD; call upon his name; MAKE KNOWN HIS DEEDS AMONG THE PEOPLES! (2) Sing to him, sing praises to him; TELL OF ALL HIS WONDROUS WORKS!" ( Psalm 105:1-2)

May we never forget to give thanks to God for His blessings. Let us do it often! Let us do it sincerely! Let us tell Him how much we love and adore Him for His provisions. Then lets us also TELL OTHERS about how much God has blessed us. Let others know how much of a difference God has made in our life. Our telling others how God has blessed us is just another way of telling God how thankful we are!

Have a great day SHARING WHAT GOD HAS DONE!
