Compelled To Give!

GOD SO LOVED that HE GAVE! ( John 3:16) JESUS SO LOVED that HE GAVE! ( Ephesians 5:25) PAUL SO LOVED that HE GAVE! ( 2 Corinthians 12:15) Many of the FIRST CENTURY CHRISTIANS SO LOVED that THEY GAVE; some even earnestly begging for the opportunity to do so! (i.e. 2 Corinthians 8:1-5) None of this giving was forced, but rather voluntarily offered. Truly knowing the love of Christ ought to also compel US TO GIVE of ourselves. ( 2 Corinthians 5:14)

Among some of the important teachings Jesus shared with His disciples prior to His death on the cross was. . .

"(34) A new commandment I give to you, that you LOVE one another; JUST AS I HAVE LOVED YOU, YOU ALSO ARE TO LOVE ONE ANOTHER. (35) By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another." ( John 13:34-35 ESV)

JESUS' LOVE: the quality and standard by which love is measured. When our life is truly filled with the LOVE OF CHRIST we will have an endless resource from which to draw as we touch the lives of others in varying, but God glorifying ways. May HIS LOVE be evident in our life as WE GIVE OURSELVES first to Him ( 2 Corinthians 8:5) and then to fulfilling the Father's Heavenly Will here on earth.
