Beyond Words!

"Words fail me." "I don't know what to say." "Your generosity has left me speechless." "I can't thank you enough." Have we experienced such moments in life? Have we received something from another that has impacted us in such a manner? What a feeling to be so overwhelmed, words just can't even come close to expressing how we feel. And though saying the words "Thank you" could not be stated with any more sincerity, they seem to fall far short of expressing the heart felt appreciation welling up from deep within us.

As Paul was urging generosity in helping others, he made the statement. . .
"(15) Thanks be to God for his INEXPRESSIBLE GIFT!" ( 2 Corinthians 9:15 ESV)

"INEXPRESSIBLE!" Recognizing the magnitude of the blessing of all of God's gifts should leave us with mouth open, but lacking the words to fully convey our thanks. Whether the gift Paul was referring to was that of God's grace ( Ephesians 2:8) or the giving of His Son ( John 3:16), can we find words truly adequate for expressing what it means to us? If anyone's gifts should leave us SPEECHLESS, it ought to be God's! He gives the greatest gifts that could ever be given. Can we ever thank God enough or find the words truly adequate for His gifts of grace, mercy, and salvation all made available through our relationship with the Lord Jesus?

Though words may fail in adequately expressing our thanks to God, He does know our heart. Therefore let us remain focused on the heart of the matter as we continue saying "Thank You" with our words, the actions of our life, and through helping others come to know God's gifts as well.
