"Late"!

Some people are so prone to being late, it is sometimes said they would be late to their own funeral. It is interesting that in the English language we also use the word "late" for someone who has died, especially very recently. Talking about such someone might refer to "the late President Ronald Reagan", or "the late John Henry", etc. However, someone has recently noted that though Jesus died over 2000 years ago, nobody has ever referred to Him as "the late Jesus." It was also stated that this was so not even among the heathens or found stated anywhere in history. Those of us who have come to know Jesus as the Son of God and Savior of the world can understand this with good reason. Though we may refer to the time when Jesus walked the face of this earth and died on the cross for our sins, He is not "the late" Jesus.

The Hebrew writer emphatically declared. . .
"JESUS CHRIST IS the same yesterday and today and forever." ( Hebrews 13:8 ESV)

The Hebrew writer also encouraged with reference to our Lord that. . .
"(25) Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since HE ALWAYS LIVES TO MAKE INTERCESSION FOR THEM." ( Hebrews 7:25 ESV)

JESUS IS the living Lord and therefore able to save us completely. And when it comes time for His glorious return, though we know not when that might be, it won't be late because God's timing is always right. Because HE LIVES may we courageously press on in life while waiting with eager expectation for life eternal with Him.

Have a great day LIVING LIFE FOR THE LIVING LORD!
