Profitable Training! (part 8 of 14)

As I go for my daily walks I utilize the time to do a lot of thinking. Getting out in the fresh air seems to help bring a freshness and clarity to the mind, especially after spending time cooped up in the office. Recently on the news there was a segment on elderly people who exercised regularly and how it was helping keep their mind sharp. Exercise is good for the brain.

Training in godliness is also good for the MIND. It helps to establish a GOOD CONSCIENCE to guide our actions and decisions. Godliness also helps bring about a SENSE OF PEACE in knowing the relationship we have with the Lord.

Some people have lost their mind. In a sense maybe that is exactly what we need to do; lose our mind and, like Paul, seek to possess "the mind of Christ." ( 1 Corinthians 2:16)

Paul pointed to the right focus in his letter to the church at Philippi where we read. . .

"(8) Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, THINK ABOUT THESE THINGS." ( Philippians 4:8 ESV)

As we exercise our brain, let us focus on the things which fall into the above categories.

Have a great day MINDING OUR MIND!
Carl
