Profitable Training! (part 4 of 14)
Physical exercise is good for the HEART. It is good to get the heart rate up a little as calories and fat are burned and endurance is developed. I have found that my fast paced walking has greatly benefited the circulation in my feet. Through exercise we contribute toward better efficiency of the heart.
Training in godliness has great benefit for the heart, the soul, the spirit, etc.
In Psalms we read. . .
"(10) CREATE IN ME A CLEAN HEART, O GOD, and RENEW A RIGHT SPIRIT WITHIN ME." ( Psalm 51:10 ESV)
Through our relationship with God we come into contact with His power to purify and renew. Sometimes radical heart surgery is needed, but God can even do that wondrous work of transformation as the HEART is given over to Him.
Paul encouraged. . .
"(16) So WE DO NOT LOSE HEART. Though our outer self is wasting away, our INNER SELF IS BEING RENEWED DAY BY DAY." ( 2 Corinthians 4:16 ESV)
Remember the Pharisees Jesus referred to as whitewashed tombs, but full of dead people's bones. ( Matthew 23:27) We ought to be most mindful of what is taking place on the inside. Our HEART must be properly focused and right with God. As we give it over more fully to Him, He will empower us with life that carries us on into eternity. Thus godliness contributes to the efficiency of the heart for the long run.
Have a great day ENHANCING A HEALTHY HEART FOR GODLINESS!
