Yes, Be Thankful!
I AM NOT GOD! And for that we can thank God. However, does my life always acknowledge God's place? Are there times when I have lived based on my own wisdom and understanding? Have I chosen my own way without seeking His guidance? Have my choices at times seemed to indicate I must have thought my way was better than God's. Have I judged the heart of another or retaliated against them? Any of these would in a sense be putting myself in God's place. But I AM NOT GOD! Again, let us be thankful!
David wrote. . .
"(19) Arise, O LORD! Let not man prevail; let the nations be judged before you! (20) Put them in fear, O LORD! LET THE NATIONS KNOW THAT THEY ARE BUT MEN!" ( Psalm 9:19-20 ESV)
How often does the world arrogantly exalt itself without acknowledging the need for God's direction? There is the need for life events to remind them they are mortal, not all wise, and are accountable not merely to themselves, but to God Whose purposes will ultimately prevail or stand. ( Proverbs 19:21) To continually acknowledge God as God is to ward off conceit and rebellion. It is also a relief because we can leave judgment and retribution to God while we live to please Him and serve His purposes. It also means we don't have to have all of life figured out. We just keep trusting the One who has the answers and holds our eternal future safely in His hands. Yes, be thankful GOD IS GOD and I am not!
Have a great day REJOICING IN THE GUIDANCE AND WISDOM BEYOND OURSELVES!
