We'll See!

"We'll see." How many times has that been the response when you have asked to do or get something? Though it is not a definite "yes", it indicates some thought will be given to it. Though it creates some un-surety, it does leave room for the possibility. Growing up, I experienced many times when the response "We'll see" actually materialized into the granting of the request. I have talked with others, however, who learned such a response really did mean "no".

"We'll see." That response leaves the door open for the possibility that should not be dismissed, even though it is not a sure thing. However, though this is the way among mankind, Jesus has provided assurances on which we can look to with confidence. Among some of the passages where our Lord declared "I WILL" we read. . .

"(28) Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I WILL GIVE YOU REST." ( Matthew 11:28 ESV)

And. . .

"(40) For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I WILL RAISE HIM UP ON THE LAST DAY." ( John 6:40 ESV)

In contrast to "We'll see", the expression "I WILL" is indicative of the decision not needing to be thought over, but that it has actually already been made. Though some assurances will come in their time, WE WILL SEE them because Jesus has said HE WILL make it so. May we continue to find rest in our life wrapped up in His as we look forward to our ultimate rising into eternity with the Lord.

Have a great day ENCOURAGED BY WHAT JESUS HAS ALREADY DECIDED!
