Made Presentable!
"Wash-n-wear!" That's what I like marked on my shirts. My wife does also, because that means those shirts can be laundered and then hung up without having to IRON OUT THE WRINKLES. One who dresses in WRINKLY clothes does not look very presentable. The same is true with our life. A WRINKLY life is not as presentable as God desires. Praise God He has provided the means in Christ to take care of those WRINKLES.
In Paul's letter to the church at Ephesus, we read. . .
"(25) Husbands, love your wives, as CHRIST LOVED THE CHURCH and GAVE HIMSELF UP FOR HER, (26) that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, (27) so THAT HE MIGHT PRESENT THE CHURCH TO HIMSELF in splendor, WITHOUT SPOT OR WRINKLE OR ANY SUCH THING, that she might be holy and without blemish." ( Ephesians 5:25-27 ESV)
As Paul was exhorting husbands with regard to how to love their wives, he presented Christ as a model for that kind of love. As a husband ought to be mindful of helping to create a good life for his wife, Jesus is noted for having given Himself to provide a good life for His church. Jesus' desire is for the church (of which we are a part) to be presented WITHOUT WRINKLE. In relationships there can be WRINKLES. In our own individual lives there can be WRINKLES. When we keep our focus on Jesus and strive to live as He would have us, those WRINKLES can get ironed out.
"Wash-n-wear!" Washed in Christ to wear the splendor of His likeness. May we submit to His taking care of the WRINKLES so that He can be seen in our daily life!
Have a great day BEING SEEN TO WEAR CHRIST!
Carl
