I. O. U. !

Debts! Some people handle them fairly well! Others get in over their heads! The thing about debts is -- they must be paid; at least by someone! Living debt free means a real burden has been lifted from the life.

Now, there is one debt we could never repay that was paid for us! That is the debt for our sins. Praise God Jesus went to the cross and paid the price for our sins, freeing us from that debt! However, there is another debt that REMAINS OUTSTANDING on which we are required to continue making payments. Paul mentioned it in his Roman letter where we read. . .

"(8) Owe no one anything, EXCEPT TO LOVE EACH OTHER, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law." ( Romans 13:8 ESV)

The New Living Translation reads. . .
"(8) Pay all your debts, except THE DEBT OF LOVE FOR OTHERS. YOU CAN NEVER FINISH PAYING THAT! If you love your neighbor, you will fulfill all the requirements of God's law." [© 1997, Wheaton, Ill.: Tyndale House]

That debt is not yet paid. As we continue to live in this life we must recognize the obligation to pay that debt still exists.

God loves me. I.O.U. love; I owe you love because I have been loved so greatly. And your debt is to pass it on. Let's keep it going!

Have a great day CONTINUING TO MAKE THOSE "LOVE PAYMENTS"!
Carl
