Stepping Purposefully!
There are times when people put their foot down, making it clear where they stand and that with which they will or will not go along. Where we put our foot down, where we plant both feet, and where we allow our feet to go is to be given serious consideration. Whose will is behind our foot placement and what is the expectation of blessing associated with it?
As Joshua was commissioned to lead the nation of Israel into the promised land, we read. . .
"(1) After the death of Moses the servant of the LORD, the LORD said to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' assistant, (2) 'Moses my servant is dead. Now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, into the land that I am giving to them, to the people of Israel. (3) EVERY PLACE THAT THE SOLE OF YOUR FOOT WILL TREAD UPON I HAVE GIVEN TO YOU, just as I promised to Moses.'" ( Joshua 1:1-3 ESV)
God was poised to greatly bless the nation of Israel, provided they continued in obedience to Him. What a blessing to hear that everyplace the sole of Joshua's foot would tread, that place would become their possession. Though we understand the "promised land" and rest of which we are seeking is the Heavenly eternal one, ( Hebrews 4:8-11), what about where WE TREAD presently in this realm?
Consider our own life with regard to each step we take. Certainly we have our Heavenly destination in mind, but what about blessing associated with where we PLACE OUR FEET today? As we surrender more fully to God's Will working in and through us, could not God bring about a blessing there? Wherever our FEET TREAD, are we seeking to glorify Him? Everyplace we step are we desiring His purposes to be fulfilled? Each place we stand is it a stand for God? Everywhere we go, are we seeking to stake a claim for God and His Sovereign Will? If this is where our focus remains, then there is potential for God to bring about His blessing wherever our "FOOT WILL TREAD." May our daily foot placement be what God desires it to be!
Have a great day BEING GOD'S BLESSING WHEREVER WE GO!
