No Instruction Needed!

I love buying things that say "No assembly required." I also appreciate computer stuff that requires no set up; just plug it in and enjoy using it. Though there are things that may be bought that require some instruction to use properly -- coming with an instruction booklet, instruction video, or signup for a class -- there are some things so simple no instruction is necessary. However, LIFE is not one of those things. LIFE can be complicated. LIFE requires wisdom. So, where do we turn?

In Paul's first letter to the church at Corinth he posed a question taken from Isaiah 40:13 which asks. . .
"For who has understood the mind of the Lord SO AS TO INSTRUCT HIM?" ( 1 Corinthians 2:16a ESV)

In order for someone to teach another, it is necessary to know more than they do or at least know something they don't. However, that is not the case with God. There is no one in a position to teach Him anything because even His foolishness (if He were to have any) is wiser than the wisdom of man. ( 1 Corinthians 1:25) We must always bear in mind GOD IS THE MASTER and WE WILL ALWAYS BE THE STUDENT!

Paul then went on to state. . .
"But we have the mind of Christ." ( 1 Corinthians 2:16b ESV)

Now, having "the mind of Christ" still does not put one in a position to instruct God. It merely reflects LEARNING FROM GOD has been taking place. That LIFE LEARNING is to be an ongoing thing. Graduation from His school will not take place until we leave this earthly realm to enter the Heavenly one.

As we listen to God's Word the "mind of Christ" is to become more and more the foundation of our thinking and the basis from which we make our life choices. May we remain open to becoming Christ-like within so that our outward actions will reflect His character as well.

Have a great day CONTINUING TO BE GOD'S STUDENT!
