Life In 3D !

Growing up I loved looking at pictures through a "View-Master" in which was inserted a circle of slides that were viewed as three-dimensional images. The images were so vivid it seemed as if one could just reach out and touch them. Today 3D movies are becoming more and more frequent productions. Viewing a 3D image on the big screen seems to put the action almost in your lap, even causing one to duck or wince at what appears to come directly at you.

Imagine living life in 3D. It is true we do not live in a one or even two dimensional world. We are able to reach out, touch, and interact with the things that are around us. However, what might mark the living of a 3D life in a spiritual sense?

Solomon exhorted. . .
"(5) TRUST IN THE LORD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, and DO NOT LEAN ON YOUR OWN UNDERSTANDING. (6) IN ALL YOUR WAYS ACKNOWLEDGE HIM, and HE WILL MAKE STRAIGHT YOUR PATHS." ( Proverbs 3:5-6 ESV)

Within this passage we find 3 D's associated with our relationship to God. First there is our DEPENDENCE on Him. With our whole heart we are to trust in Him, rather than our own understanding. Our life is also to be marked by DEDICATION to God through always acknowledging Him and His Sovereignty as we go through all the activities of life. Nothing in life is to be viewed and approached separate from our consideration of God and His Will! When our relationship to God is right in this way, we have placed ourselves in a position to receive the wise DIRECTION God is eager to provide. His Way has been prepared before us so that we can walk in it to where He ultimately desires us to be.

Do we catch the 3D image? This is living life pictured as God would have it. It is what opens the way to living life in its most real sense. This is the picture of life fully connected to the One Who guides, sustains, and always exists to fulfill all that He has promised. May the "Master's-View" be the one we take for life!
