Following The Light!

There are "fair-weather" boaters who are only out on the water when the weather is calm. There are "fair-weather" golfers who only walk the links when the weather is nice. There are "fair-weather" runners or walkers who choose not to exercise when the weather is cold and damp. And the list goes on. However, such as these are of small consequence compared to those who are "fair-weather" Christians. It is easy to trust the Lord and praise Him when things are going well, but is that still the case when we face the storms of life? Like Peter, have we experienced "beginning to sink" ( Matthew 14:30) when we have taken our eyes off of Jesus and focused on the storm?

Someone has said, "The flower that follows the sun, does so even on cloudy days." As that is the reality physically, where is our focus turned spiritually? Are we willing to FOLLOW THE SON, even on life's cloudy days? Do we trust Him as much when the forces of this life seem to be against us as when all is going well?

Let us be encouraged by the following words of Jesus:
"(12) Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, 'I am the light of the world. Whoever FOLLOWS ME will NOT WALK IN DARKNESS, but WILL HAVE THE LIGHT OF LIFE.'" ( John 8:12 ESV)

As it is the sun's light that causes the flowers to turn toward it and come into full bloom, may it be the SON'S LIGHT that does the same for us through all the varied weather experienced in this realm. Just as the sun is always shining even above the clouds, let us look to the ever-shining LIGHT OF JESUS beaming brightly even when the world seems dark and gloomy? Keeping our focus following HIS LIGHT will help us to be all-weather Christians.

Have a great day BLOOMING IN HIS ETERNAL LIFE GIVING LIGHT!
Carl
