Worthy Relationship!
I am not worthy of the salvation I have received in Christ, because my sins were the reason Jesus went to the cross. I do not deserve the blessings God has provided, but by His grace I am blessed both physically and spiritually. However, Jesus demonstrated my life (and yours) was worth saving and so He willingly gave Himself up for us that through the shedding of His blood our sins could be adequately atoned for and the justice of God fulfilled with regard to sin. The thing that would leave me in a position of unworthiness is when Jesus does not have His rightful place in connection with my life.
Jesus stated. . .
"(37) Whoever LOVES FATHER OR MOTHER MORE THAN ME is NOT WORTHY of me, and whoever LOVES SON OR DAUGHTER MORE THAN ME is NOT WORTHY of me. (38) And whoever does NOT TAKE HIS CROSS AND FOLLOW ME is NOT WORTHY of me. (39) Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it." ( Matthew 10:37-39 ESV)
It is not that father and mother and son or daughter or even our own life is not to be loved. We are commanded to love others and to love our neighbor as our self (which implies a love for self). The thing to bear in mind is that for us to worthy of Jesus, we must LOVE HIM MOST OF ALL! He is to receive the supreme focus of our life! We must even be willing to endure as we surrender to follow Him rather than shrinking back and doing our own thing.
JESUS IS MOST WORTHY of our praise and adoration for the salvation He has provided. Our own worthiness is found in maintaining a proper relationship with Him as the Sovereign over every aspect of our life. In LOVING HIM ABOVE ALL we will seek to please Him, serve His purposes, and in our quest to become more like Him we will treat all our other relationships appropriately as well. By Jesus remaining the number one focus of our life, we will be demonstrating our greatest appreciation for the interest He has shown in us.
Have a great day GIVING CHRIST THE WORTH-SHIP RIGHTFULLY HIS!
