New Year Blessing!

Often, with the beginning of a new year, there is wondering with regard to such as, "What blessings will come with this new year?" or "How will the Lord bless me this year?" This contemplation may encompass a variety of areas of our life. Will I be blessed with good health? Will I be blessed with good fortune? Will I be blessed with greater victory over personal challenges? Will I be blessed with good grades, a good job, a promotion, etc.

Each year and day we are provided is a blessing from God. With regard to time someone has said, "Time wasted is existence; used, is life." [original source unknown] How we use the time God brings can BE A BLESSING to others and ultimately to God as we serve His purposes in this life. Are we prayerfully considering what it is we are going to do for the Lord this year? How can our life BE A BLESSING to others and to God as we seek to do His Will? Are we not most blessed as we allow God to use us for His Divine purposes?

James exhorted. . .
"(22) But BE DOERS OF THE WORD, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. (23) For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror. (24) For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like. (25) But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but A DOER WHO ACTS, HE WILL BE BLESSED IN HIS DOING." ( James 1:22-25 ESV)

As we daily study God's Word, let us do so with the resolve to put it into practice in our daily lives. Rather than merely existing or surviving, may we thrive in BEING A BLESSING as we go about our day to day activities. As we seek above all else to carry out the Will of God on a daily basis, we will ultimately be blessed in the doing.

Have a great day BEING A BLESSING OF GOD!
Carl
