Look! (part 4 of 4)

Once again noting the text of the last three days. . .
"BEHOLD, HE IS COMING with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him, and all tribes of the earth will wail on account of him. Even so. Amen." ( Revelation 1:7 ESV)

And the New Living Translation which reads. . .
"LOOK! HE COMES with the clouds of heaven. And everyone will see him -- even those who pierced him. And all the nations of the earth will weep because of him. Yes! Amen!" [NLT © 1997, Wheaton, Ill.: Tyndale House]

LOOK! Do we hear the excitement in those words? Can we sense the EAGER ANTICIPATION in those words? Can we see the joyful watchfulness in those words? What A GLORIOUS DAY our Lord's coming will be! Not a day to LOOK at with fear by us who believe and are ready! Nor a day yet to be convinced of since we believe what we have read and heard concerning our Lord's coming.

Peter encouraged. . .
"(11) Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, what sort of people ought you to be in lives of holiness and godliness, (12) WAITING FOR AND HASTENING THE COMING OF THE DAY OF GOD, because of which the heavens will be set on fire and dissolved, and the heavenly bodies will melt as they burn! (13) But according to his promise we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells." ( 2 Peter 3:11-13 ESV)

A DAY TO ANTICIPATE as we live our lives now. A day to LOOK TOWARD as we keep on keeping on here. We ought to LOOK toward His coming as a day of fulfillment of all the hopes and promises based on our faith in Jesus. We EAGERLY ANTICIPATE the deliverance from the temporary to the eternal; the transformation from the perishable to the imperishable. ( I Corinthians 15:42-44)

What will it all be like? I don't know. What will Jesus look like? I don't know that either. What will we be like? Whatever it all will be probably cannot be described adequately to our finite minds now. But one thing I know is. . .

"Beloved, we are God's children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears WE SHALL BE LIKE HIM, because we shall see him as he is." ( 1 John 3:2 ESV)

Oh, what a scene that day will be. Oh, what a sight to behold. And oh, what a glory we shall share in with our Lord in eternity. What a day to set our eyes toward.

Have a great day EAGERLY ANTICIPATING THAT GRAND HOPE IN CHRIST!
