Life Consistency!
One can tell a lie; speaking that which is not true. One can also live a lie; appearing different than what their true character actually is. Perhaps we could say to do both would be consistent and therefore one would know what to expect from such a life. However, that is not the consistency we want in life. As we tell the truth ( Ephesians 4:15 & 25) we also need to LIVE THE TRUTH. Otherwise, how could we expect people to accept what we say if our life says something different. As Christians, how believable are we?
As John wrote to Gaius, he noted his spiritual health in this way:
"(2) Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be IN GOOD HEALTH, AS IT GOES WELL WITH YOUR SOUL. (3) For I rejoiced greatly when the brothers came and TESTIFIED TO YOUR TRUTH, as indeed you are WALKING IN THE TRUTH. (4) I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are WALKING IN THE TRUTH." ( 3 John 2-4 ESV)
Others had testified that the truth was in Gaius; that he was faithful to the truth. And it was in accord with the truth that Gaius LIVED HIS LIFE. When the TRUTH IS ALIVE within us it should be revealed in both our actions and our words. By so doing we have the potential of making believers of those around us.
Have a great day BEING A BELIEVABLE BELIEVER!
