The Blessed!

The BLESSED. Who are they? We look around and see people who may have things or status we think we could enjoy. We see those who appear to not have a care in the world and may at times wish we were there. However, how do those individuals feel? Do we know what is going on inside them? Outwardly do they appear to be well off, while inwardly are possibly in turmoil? It is amazing how two individuals can look at each other, both wishing they could trade places. We have images in this life of the rich looking at the poor and the poor looking at the rich, each viewing the other as the truly BLESSED.

The BLESSED. Who are they? Who are the TRULY BLESSED? Does it really have to do with possessions? Does it really have anything to do with status?

The BLESSED. The TRULY BLESSED. Who are they? Do they know it? God wants it known. God desires for it to be felt.

Paul, quoting David ( Psalm 32:1-2), reminds us. . .
"(7) 'BLESSED are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, and whose sins are covered; (8) BLESSED is the man against whom the Lord will not count his sin.'" ( Romans 4:7-8 ESV)

Yes, those are the TRULY BLESSED! To be forgiven; to have sins covered; to know sin is no longer held against us; that is the BLESSED state in Christ. That is the realm where the possession is peace. That is the experience of status as children of God. That is the picture of the TRULY BLESSED!

One of the powerful verses of Horatio G. Spafford's hymn "It Is Well With My Soul" (written in 1873) is. . .
"My sin, oh, the bliss of THIS GLORIOUS THOUGHT!
MY SIN, NOT IN PART BUT THE WHOLE,
IS NAILED TO THE CROSS, AND I BEAR IT NO MORE,
PRAISE THE LORD, PRAISE THE LORD, O MY SOUL!"

Thank God for His forgiveness through the power of the blood of Jesus Christ. Praise the Lord, O my soul, that it was not in part, but wholly taken away. Let us accept His gift of forgiveness as we reveal our adoration and thankfulness for such a gift through an obedient and submissive life to Him.

Have a great day KNOWING WE ARE TRULY BLESSED BECAUSE OF CHRIST!
