Direction Of Focus!

To one who stated his willingness to follow Jesus, but only after he did something else. . .
"Jesus said to him, 'No one who puts his hand to the plow and LOOKS BACK is fit for the kingdom of God.'" ( Luke 9:62 ESV)

It is with the focus straight ahead that the farmer is able to plow straight furrows across a field. Looking back, the movement will be off to the right or the left. Fixing the FOCUS FORWARD is what is needed. However that FOCUS FORWARD is not just on the plowing, but also on the sowing and the anticipation of a harvest. Are we maintaining a FOCUS FORWARD in relation to life?

In God's message to Israel through Isaiah we read. . .
"(9) remember the former things of old; for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me, (10) DECLARING THE END FROM THE BEGINNING and FROM ANCIENT TIMES THINGS NOT YET DONE, saying, 'My counsel shall stand, and I will accomplish all my purpose,'" ( Isaiah 46:9-10 ESV)

Looking back we should recognize God's track record of fulfilling what He has declared He would. In the beginning He set a plan in motion that is continuing to MOVE FORWARD even to this day. God has continually had a FOCUS FORWARD with regard to His purposes. As we read through the Scriptures it should not take long to recognize a message from Genesis to Revelation that continues to FOCUS FORWARD. A simple yet powerfully significant summation of the Bible's theme is "A King is coming. The King has come. The King is coming again!"

Like God, we are encouraged to keep our FOCUS FORWARD. Time is moving ahead. Every day is one step closer to our eternity with the Lord. We cannot change the past. However, we can live today with our eternal glorious future in view. May we continue looking ahead as we press on in life.

Have a great day FOCUSING FORWARD WITH GOD!
