A Model!

There are many who obsess over their looks. Hair gel or spray, name brand clothing, closely watched diets, muscle building and other exercise, etc.; all with an aim at being physically ATTRACTIVE. Honestly consider how much time you yourself spend in front of the mirror getting ready to go out and be seen by your peers. As you glance through magazines, is there a longing to have the physique or figure of the models pictured there? Though there is nothing wrong with trying to look your best, is there proper balance with regard to other aspects of your life?

The reality is there is only so much we can do with that with which we are born. No matter how hard some of us try we might never make it as a fashion model. However, there is an ATTRACTIVENESS we can and should strive toward.

In Paul's letter to Titus he exhorted. . .
"Show yourself in all respects to BE A MODEL OF GOOD WORKS, and in your teaching show integrity, dignity," ( Titus 2:7 ESV)

Living needs to be more about CHARACTER than merely about physical ATTRACTIVENESS. I have met some nice looking people in my lifetime who were not very ATTRACTIVE because of ugly behavior. Because of their attitudes and actions, people were not drawn toward them, at least not for very long. What this world really needs more of is those willing to be "a model of good works"; the works God desires to be a part of our life due to the GODLY CHARACTER being developed within. Peter urged wives toward such "imperishable beauty" rather than that which was merely external. ( 1 Peter 3:4) Therefore, in this sense every one of us can be a model with an ATTRACTIVENESS that is precious in the sight of God and beneficial to others around us. Is there an anymore exquisite brand name adornment than that which bears the Name of God? May His label mark the manner in which we conduct our lives so that others will be drawn toward Him.

Have a great day LOOKING GOOD GOD'S WAY!
