Three Keys For Holy Living! (part 1 of 4)

Maintaining holiness is a continuing challenge. However, we must remember we have been made holy in Christ and have been called to be holy ones. ( 1 Corinthians 1:2) That holiness is not because we are perfect. We are each well aware of our sins and all the things we struggle with most. To deny we sin makes God a liar. ( 1 John 1:10) Praise God for the adequacy of Jesus' blood to take care of our sins and that because of Him God calls us holy.

Peter exhorted. . .
"(14) AS OBEDIENT CHILDREN, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, (15) but as he who called you is holy, you also BE HOLY IN ALL YOUR CONDUCT, (16) since it is written, 'You shall be holy, for I am holy.'" ( 1 Peter 1:14-16 ESV)

Are we seeking to please OUR HEAVENLY FATHER? "As obedient children" OUR FATHER'S CHARACTERISTICS are to be seen in our life. Jesus addressed some whose conduct revealed that though they claimed to have descended from Abraham ( John 8:39) and God ( John 8:41), they were actually of a father who was in direct opposition to God; namely the devil. ( John 8:44) They were seeking to do his desires ( John 8:44), not God's. Are we continually seeking to fulfill the desires of OUR HEAVENLY FATHER? If so, that will be reflected in striving to be holy IN ALL OUR CONDUCT. Holiness is not to be the essence of a day or during certain activities of the week. Holiness is to be the essence of our life wherever we are and whatever we are doing.

What is key to maintaining such conduct? Lord Willing, over the next three days we will note three keys from an exhortation Paul made to Timothy. May our life remain open to the process of characterizing more and more of OUR HEAVENLY FATHER'S essence.

Have a great day REVEALING WE ARE TRULY A CHILD OF GOD!
