The Heart Of The Matter! (part 1 of 8)

Sometimes we tend to not go very deep with things. How often do we merely skim the surface in our communication or dealings with others? Even regarding things in our own lives, do we find ourselves making applications of things on a surface level -- merely putting on a show or putting up a front -- rather than being genuine? When it comes to our relationship with God and a focus on His Will we need to go deep. We need to allow the things of God to penetrate deep into our lives in order to be genuinely enabled to live in accordance with the character He helps to instill within us. Therefore, we must be concerned with the HEART OF THE MATTER!

Today and over the next seven days join me in meditating on something which matters greatly: OUR HEART.

First of all, let us consider that on which our affections are most focused.

Jesus reminded of this ageless principle:
"(30) And you shall LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength." ( Mark 12:30 ESV)

God must be at the core of our HEART'S FOCUS AND AFFECTION for all else to retain its proper place in our lives. This is a foundational truth for life. A GENUINE LOVE FOR GOD ABOVE ALL ELSE will make all the difference for both now and eternity.
