I Am Loved!
Do you ever sit back and simply think about the fact YOU ARE LOVED? Loved by parents. Loved by family. Loved by children. Loved by a friend. It truly is a sad state when one thinks they are not loved by anyone. Knowing we are loved can almost make us feel we are wrapped up in a warm blanket of comfort and peace.
An elderly woman who lived alone and was not able to get out much was asked by a friend, "What do you do during the day?" She replied, "Well, I get my hymnbook and sing. Then I get my Bible and let the Lord speak to me. When I get tired of reading and cannot sing anymore, I just sit still and let the Lord love me!" [selected]
To meditate on the reality of THE LORD'S LOVE for us ought to be very encouraging and warming.
John wrote. . .
"(9) IN THIS THE LOVE OF GOD WAS MADE MANIFEST among us, THAT GOD SENT HIS ONLY SON into the world, so that we might live through him. (10) In THIS IS LOVE, not that we have loved God but that HE LOVED US AND SENT HIS SON TO BE THE PROPITIATION FOR OUR SINS. (11) Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. " ( 1 John 4:9-11 ESV)
"Propitiation" refers to our sins having been covered or remitted. God's love was made manifest or clearly evident in the sending of the Son to adequately deal with our sins. Yes, we are greatly loved. And the manner in which we live our lives will reveal how much we appreciate GOD'S LOVE and that of our Lord Who willingly came and gave Himself for us. Also, since we are SO LOVED by God His expectation is that we also love one another. Therefore, as we find comfort in sitting and contemplating GOD'S LOVE, may others feel the embrace of HIS LOVE through the actions of our life as well.
Have a great day BEING A PART OF THE LIVING LOVE OF GOD!
