What Seems May Not Be!

How many times have people said, "It seems alright to me." and then led others into something that did not end so well? Have we experienced this ourselves? There are many things in life that may seem right at first, but after closer consideration may be found to be not good at all.

Solomon stated. . .
"(12) There is a way that SEEMS RIGHT to a man, but ITS END IS THE WAY TO DEATH." ( Proverbs 14:12 ESV)

This was important enough that it was repeated.
"(25) There is a way that SEEMS RIGHT to a man, but ITS END IS THE WAY TO DEATH." ( Proverbs 16:25 ESV)

Some have been deceived by others or have become self-deceived into accepting LIFE DIRECTION that is not right. This is reflected in the choice of habits, lifestyles, and activities in which they engage. Many who walk in worldly ways have come to believe what they are doing is right and in pleasing themselves are blinded to the harm they are actually bringing upon themselves or even others around them. The death they are dying (physically, spiritually, or both) may be a slow one, but it is the end of the way in which they are walking. It is possible to even involve oneself in activities directly opposed to God's Will while thinking service is being done for Him. (i.e. John 16:2) Such marked the life of Saul while he persecuted the church. ( Acts 26:9-11; Philippians 3:6)

Solomon also encouraged. . .
"(28) In the PATH OF RIGHTEOUSNESS IS LIFE, and in its pathway there is NO DEATH." ( Proverbs 12:28 ESV)
Decisions based upon what merely "seems right" to us is not always a safe standard. We must remain open to what GOD HAS DECLARED TO BE RIGHT! Anytime we begin to think we are smart enough in and of ourselves, we have begun to head down the wrong road. It is GOD'S WISDOM we must continually look to in order to make certain we are on the PATHWAY OF LIFE.

Have a great day WALKING TO GOD'S RIGHT!
